American Red Cross workplace safety training meets the first aid guidelines identified by OSHA, as well as Emergency Cardiovascular Care 2000 Guidelines.

For optimal training flexibility, consider becoming an American Red Cross Authorized Provider. We'll train your staff instructors to deliver Red Cross courses and provide continuing support and evaluation that keeps your training first rate.

  

Courses

Choose one of our core courses, Workplace Training: Standard First Aid or Adult CPR/Automated External Defibrillation (AED). Then add a supplemental module such as Ergonomics; Slips, Trips, and Falls; Back Injury Prevention; Workplace Violence Awareness or Your Heart Matters and Heart Attack Warning Signs.

  

Workplace Training: Standard First Aid (5 1/2 hours)

Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Standard First Aid is also available in a 6 1/2 hour course with AED training included.

Adult CPR/AED

Recognizing and handling emergency situations, caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, performing CPR on adults, and using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on victims of sudden cardiac arrest until advanced medical help is available. Basic precautions for preventing disease transmission.

Infant and Child CPR

Participants learn how to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children under the age of 12 until advanced medical help can take over. Basic precautions for preventing disease transmission.

AED Essentials

Individuals currently certified in Adult CPR learn how to safely use an AED to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Injury Control Modules (1 hour each)

Focusing on common causes of worksite injuries and key health risks, these one-hour awareness-level modules highlight risks and promote prevention. Self-assessments help employees recognize risky habits. Demonstrations and lively discussions reinforce practical prevention tips. Modules include: Ergonomics; Slips, Trips and Falls; Back Injury Prevention; Workplace Violence Awareness; Managing Stress; and Your Heart Matters.

Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission.

A training module for employers and employees who, while on the job, may be exposed to blood or other body fluids that could cause infection. Employers can offer this program as part of their compliance with OSHA regulations.

Oxygen Administration

Laypersons can learn when and how to use supplemental oxygen and breathing devices. Professional rescuers also learn advanced skills in airway management.
